Ok so this is just my speculation.
Aileen might actually be the Duke's daughter, the black hair one. We do know that his wife had a baby in her womb before she died. That baby might have been Aileen. And the part where that blondie ass was holding Aileen, I think someone just gave Aileen to him to keep the world knowing she's a dragon yknow.

She is they though she died with the mom but I think the novel says she had the blessing of god and was born something like that I can really say if these were the exact word because it been a minute sence I read it

I look novelI haven't read the novel but I looked at the spoiler. Yes, the black-haired one's biological daughter, when her mother died, they buried her thinking she was there too, but she was born. I think another dragon manipulated the memories of the father and the daughter to protect the girl.
Wait she isnt his biological daughter?! But she is a dragon? Dont Tell me the blond man is her father…that would be super depressing
