No. He's not just a crybaby. He's smart (as you can see on the introduction), might not be smart in english but he's smart emotionally. He knows emotions and anger is one of it. He wanted the mc to suffer pain physically, and since he didn't want to beat him, he instead because it was a mutual for them to do it until recently.

I’m PISSED. His character would never have done that. They should’ve just had him cry horribly and told mc to get out of his life while throwing the money at him. Makes no sense why authors just GOT to throw these scenes in there each time
