It's not really a Romance based novel. It's about a god and how he came back to human realm. Also it might be confusing for non novel fans but they introduce characters because they are all part of the novel. Romance is very minimal part here. It's a plot heavy novel. So if you're reading it only for romance it's not a good choice for you. Again, try reading the novel. It's really good.
Yeah it felt...slow. I heard the author has another story so is that story more fast paced hopefully I like will that story better.

I'd personally recommend you read the novel if you found the animation on the boring side but also keep in mind it's still a slow burn however that doesn't take away from just how majestic and beautifully put together the story is. The animation is faithful to the novel as far as i remember but I can understand how that would be on the underwhelming side for someone who heard a lot about it.
Also I would say 'the best' is very personal however know that the hype is very much deserved for a story that stirring. The themes it strives to explore are exceptionally well done and it has very beautifully written characters.
To me it definitely is a story I hold close to my heart.

Thisss I love plot heavy stories but I couldn't stand this story. Like MXTX is one of my fave authors but I really couldn't with this story.
Before you bite and fight me, I tried reading the story over 3 times and the anime + manhua more than 4, I just can't. I think its mainly bc the main chara pmo, I love WWX bc of his batshit, baddie nature but the main chara for the mc in Heaven Official's blessing was 1) bland 2) Mary Sue to the absolute max. I love HC, the long wait for his love, action/political intrigue/mystery heavy stories with cultivation but I just couldn't with the main chara in this. I'm not even trolling, I really tried but I couldn't. The way tht ppl would treat, betray, shit on him and he wouldn't personally beat their asses. I'm okay with that to a certain extent but when it's excessive it just pmo. Maybe its because I genuinely couldn't get past the beginning arcs but I wanted to beat the shit outta everyone or pull their hair maybe. It's not even bc I don't like Mary Sue's or righteous charas I'm acc fine w them. I tried to watch Heaven Official's Blessing but I thinks it so boring and slow. It has so much hype that I thought it was going to be very good but it so slow.
