G-guys its ok! His predatory gaze was non-sexual! He actually is planning to kill the kid because the church is actually evil! (Insert tragic revenge backstory on how the church hurt ML) When MC manifests his crest he will be used to do evil things so that’s why the ML infiltrated to become his guardian so he can take him out before anything happens BUT he starts to get to know the kid and starts having conflicting feelings. Thats why he says he hates him, because he’s trying to push himself away and resolve himself. But He keeps pushing it back and saying “I’ll kill him once the crest appears… who knows if it even will”, thats why he keeps asking if his crest will appear soon. But while he hesitates, the 2nd in command guy (who’s also in on it), decides to take it into his own hands and offs the kid. In order to stop the ML from starting to care for the kid anymore …… I tell myself in the mirror ＿|￣|○
