That has to be it. The MC experiencing bouts of amnesia and looks like there's another personality. The ml saying he forgot his past. The people in the village not answering questions properly. They are 100% hiding something.

Do you think the mc was one of the people who conducted experiments of the ml, but he sympathized with him so let him escape??
Or maybe mc was one of the people being experimented on along with the ml???
