HAHAHAHAHA yeah it's so weird The region is called the Caucasus and its people are called Caucasian. But white (as in the skin color) is also called Caucasian EVEN THO CAUCASIAN PEOPLE ARENT WHITE it's ironic.

I came here to read the ass fic and left to research Caucasian as a geographical populace lol. I also didn’t know this and had also wondered where the term even came from to be synonymous with white in some places. So apparently it’s from an outdated racial theory scientists had about biological race and like movements of population I guess. Cause it covered a stupidly large area. (Europe, parts of Asia, and parts of Africa. So you know just like half the fucking world.) the scientific portion of it has since been disproven according to what I read but racism and Christianity played some part (sticking they fingers in all the pies like usual) in the term ending up as the racial term for white people.
So that makes my day today interesting.
