I don't think some people get the backstory. It's not a "trauma" or a "boo hoo" story. It's showing a pattern on the ML's (lack of) feelings in a disorderly way. No sense of caution, continous impulsiveness out of curiosity (not even seeking excitement by himself), no lingering attachments, no bonding with anyone or anything. It also shows how he does not lie, but just avoids confrontation in things he deems are stupid but know will tick people off (like saying his exes are just "people he used to know"). However, he is also very comitted to what he gets into, and that's why he may look like the whole boyfriends package superficially, but he's never felt anything beyond "interest" so he does pretend to treat his partner beyond the starting stage of a relationship where people are just "meeting" each other instead of "loving" each other. That's why no one can stand being by his side: he is true to himself so he doesn't leave because he is comfortable in that stage, while his partner wants to go forward. And accepting to get with anyone that calls out to him means he's ran through and is used to living that with ALL his partners through ALL his life.
He's anti-social and didn't even realize how this time was different from others until it was too late. In other words, the backstory is not trying to say "feel bad for me my live has been too easy", it says "holy shit I fumbled for assuming it was the same as always, now what can I do?"
Your comment should be pinned omg mfs really don’t get it like ok make it more obvious all your ‘trauma’ knowledge is from bl webtoons and you don’t understand how real people work #-.-)
