I get what you're saying but we can't also excuse the emperor for acting like this toward a literal child even if he didn't care for her the least he could've done was giver her some attention and not hide her away and make her life miserable. The express to was either dying, or didn't know she would die once she gave birth. She just wanted a family, or in the other case not want her husband to be alone. If she were alive, that child would've been loved (porbably) from both of them.
Oh no I agree the emperor is terrible I’m hoping the mc doesn’t forgive him at all I think she was frail but I don’t think she was dying from what I’ve seen, but I’m just saying she knew it was a risk and he had told her all he needed was her but she didn’t believe him. Honestly I just really dislike both, I know it’s not a sin to want a child but she was frail and infertile I don’t see why she thought a forced pregnancy wouldn’t have dire consequences and I do think she would’ve gotten love from both, maybe. Tho maybe mainly the mom if I’m honest.
I really dislike the empress might even hate her TT her wish is what made two people miserable. The emperor had told her he didn’t want or need a child but she’s like “I’m sure he does” girl please (honestly only basing this off of the current chapters out, and seeing how mc is suffering emotionally I just can’t help but dislike her greatly)
