If it worked like that I don't think it would've been acceptable for him to use that shard technique with the evolving technique and all it's all at his disposition I think they're thinking like because he is one of the eight higer beings so normal techniques won't work so it leaves him with his original gluttony and space powers

I feel like that could've been expanded more to make it gradually more obvious he's evil then the fact that it's not even chief Jeong to begin with. I feel like if the whole revelation did not happen I wouldn't have noticed that oh maybe he is not even chief Jeong to begin with
like everything is too sudden and many things happening that they couldn't even give details lol
Seriously I was hoping this big debacle to go down with chief jeong's whole lore and his connection to maru's father but here we are. The fight was sooo cooolll but why was it not dragged to at least 3-4 chapters? The whole dying and that lady forgetting her name, giving up her life source to bring them back could've been sm more dynamic
