It takes way longer to type “hey I’m at a cafe with a girl my boss set me up with but actually it turns out she’s not single and neither am I so I’ll get back to you after” he probably didnt want to be rude and b on his phone for so long and he figured he’d talk to yeoreum later anyways

He should’ve typed something along the lines of “I’m having a talk with a coworker, I’ll talk to you soon” but I get that the author is just trying to set up a conflict, just not ready for the angst
