ML just wants to marry MC but according to rules and everything abt the ml being quite insane to everyone's eyes they don't allow ml to end up with mc. Also according to the royal rules, he can't marry mc unless mc is the last person who stands to be unwedded with the king, then ml can marry mc.

Ml's cousin, Alicia, is a crazy lady that wants power. The uncle also wants power so is helping her to get married to ml. Ml hates her bcs she's a threat to his marriage to mc and she also harms mc. Ml is trying to tie her down. Hence, marrying her off.

Now he is using the royal marriage to buy time so that there will be time to make a new rule that does not oppose ml and mc marriage while using an old rule (that ml's dad told mc dad to hide which ml found) to back their marriage up.
