A textbook narcissistic family

The narcissistic mother, narcissistic father, narcissistic golden boy and... *drum roll*... the black sheep. And in the story, the partner unfortunately also is a golden boy. It's a secret dream for lots of victims to see their narcissistic family change and love or at least accept them. But in real life that basically never happens. Whether it's a partner or a family member - narcissistic personality disorders are very difficult to treat, because narcissists cannot see any fault within themselves and close to never seek help. It's better to leave a narcissist behind, for self protection. If somebody is able to change, they weren't really a narcissist to begin with. A sad reality.

As someone who had a narcissistic father I completely agree with everything you said. They WONT change. They are the most selfish, manipulative people you’ll ever meet. Leave them.

Unfortunately, the new reply disappeared. To you, who wrote that, I feel you. Narcissism is a generational problem in my family, too.
