This is long, stick with me

This is a long crockpot theory, but stay with me while I try to defend myself not dropping this yet.

JJK hired Dan for PT and sex, which Dan was against but he’s blackballed in his industry and needed the money so he took the job. JJK kept Dan’s debts over his head but always reminded him he could quit/be fired at anytime if he doesn’t help with Jaekyung’s jinx/becomes a liability. I think when he yelled at Dan after his “loss”, he was hurt/angry since he assumed KD would go to another gym for more money, he was pissed he lost, but then he realized he fucked up by accusing Dan of being a traitor. Still with me? Okay.

Whenever JJK would reference past sex with Dan, it’s almost always about the night before the US match. Since that night, Jaekyung assumed Dan enjoyed the sex not just as a job, which made him claim Dan as part of his team rather than someone disposable. And although Dan loved Jaegeng first, Jaegeng needed Dan more. So Dan leaving was the start of Jaekyung’s chasing arc because he can’t fathom that someone who said they love him would leave so easily and, more specifically, without his say so.

(Possible spoilers if you aren’t up to Ch 67)

S2’s going to be much longer apparently so don’t expect any major changes yet but for now, JJK is physically better than before and realizes Dan doesn’t want his ass, so he’s definitely chasing rn but he’s a human bulldozer so it might not be fluff. But he’s chasing. And Dan is worse off than he’s ever been because the only person he has in this world is dying while the last person he wants to be with won’t leave him alone, all while he still has to pay him back for his debt.

JJK is realizing Dan really doesn’t want to “work” for him but is giving him what he wants in order to make him go away, and he’s clearly bothered by the fact Dan’s making that known, so he’s trying to fix it in his own way but he sucks at communicating so it just leads to sex every time. But he’s realizing he can’t keep using Dan’s insistence and the debt as an excuse if Dan just keeps drinking and sleepwalking.

I think we’re about to get communication FINALLY, but I’m hoping it’s Jaekyung explaining his Jinx to Dan and why he needs him to get better (even if it’s for selfish reasons), especially since we know jackshit about the ML almost 70 chapters in besides eluding to a dark past.

This is gonna be a slow burn and a headache and while I don’t think Mingwa’s gonna give a foolproof redemption for JJK, I’m still interested in seeing how she pulls it off. I won’t excuse the rape, dubcon, power imbalance, debt bondage, or any other icks from this manhwa I missed, but I really want to see Jaekyung reformed since it’s hinted he’s bratty and possessive and Dan WHICH WOUKD BE SO CHTE IF HE WASNT SHIT! But we’ll get there when we get there ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
