hellooo layla/laila comes from The Holy Nation of Laila !! their people use wicked sorcery but unlike the sorcerers like vinter, their powers highly depend on their own life source instead of using mana or nature as mediums. the reason why its wicked is bc to avoid using all of their life span, they absorb other ppl’s lives through kissing [like if u remember when one of vinter’s kids was kidnapped by mages and at the end of that, we saw the leader (laila herself) kissing a guy and it ended up turning him into ashes].
all in all, that’s when layla/laila starts to become mentioned more often bc she’s fully led the reason why all the mages of the holy nation of laila have been infiltrating a lot of events in the story
i can also tell you a spoiler about laila herself but im not sure if you’d like to hear it because it involves yvonne and the reason why she’s in possession of the mirror that laila used; as well as the reason why yvonne was behind the cloak of laila, but its not much bc its a bit obvious so lmk if u want to hear it in detail thoroughly!
