It is happy ending but not exactly the happy ending many expect. There are a lot of tradegy and sadly we only see few panels at the end about their happy ending. There is no explicit scene that shows how they lived "happily" after.. more like open ended. Very good story though.
Personally i would not read it when i want something "happy", because i binge read today and i am kind of depressed...
