Reading this feels like I’m trapped in a genjutsu. Because truth is, ML is utter scum and hasn’t changed one bit—he’s simply holding back due to lived experience.

FL only has partial memorises, therefore she’s getting scammed in this relationship due to not remembering the full extent of his cruelty towards her.
On the surface they’re this shippable power couple, but beneath the facade lies the uncomfortable truth.

What I can say about the current FL, is that she’s a natural white lotus, she’s very cool. And that goes for all the other women by her side, they’re all so cool. Her family are the biggest victims in all of this, they’ve to bear the burnt of her terrible decisions, yes including her terrible man.

ML should’ve been throughly tortured before being granted a chance at redoing life. And I bet the other scum version of himself will make a comeback later down the line to further taunt FL.
The people trying to equate her obsession with him in the second world to his actions have lost it. These two things are incomparable.

Well in the current world didn’t she also kill all his siblings and like multiple people to “put him on top”?? Like she is just him form the first world, even the manga says that the second world is just the opposite of the first.

In the first world the ML becomes obsessed with the FL, uses his power and status to marry her, and kills the people around her under the guise of “loving her”.

Him treating her shitty in the second world is the same as her treating him shitty in the first, the difference is it doesn’t seem as bad when you see an obsessive ML being punished for being obsessive compared to an obsessive FL being punished for being obsessive.

The difference is that she gained nothing from him killing her relatives, and since she deeply loved them, it left her emotionally scarred for life.

His situation however is completely different, those killed were not just his brothers but also his political enemies. What she did was more or less normalised in a battle for succession, her actions secured him a position of power far beyond hers, whereas he trapped her in a room like a caged bird. Moreover, he never seemed particularly close to his family to begin with.
She also never cheated on him. This man slept around left and right.
In both lives, she was the more miserable one.

Looking beyond just the kill count, the emotional impact and circumstances make it impossible to treat these two situations as the same.

You’re forgetting to mention the fact that he didn’t want to become king in this life, yeah it’s natural for siblings to kill eachother for the throne but he didn’t want it nor was he qualified to be in that position.

To him she literally just killed all of his siblings, it doesn’t matter whether or not that decision put him on top when he didn’t want to be on top in the first place.

Also bringing up the fact that he’s cheating in this life as an example of him being shitty just isn’t fair when he doesn’t want to be with her, he’s cheating because he feels trapped in a relationship and position that he doesn’t want to be in so now all he can do to get back at her IS cheat.

I don’t even know if I can say she’s the most miserable in both lives, she’s just the one who’s easier to sympathize with, especially since in the world where she’s the obsessed one we’re following her POV after she’s already done all the crazy shit and we kinda just have to hear about it. In the other world we saw her reaction to the crazy stuff he did in that world, in this one we don’t get to see his reaction to the crazy stuff she did.

Honestly (sorry for the long reply again lol), I think it’s just a power difference. You don’t think she would also try and lock him in this world if she had the power to? Or that if she had gotten pregnant by him in the first world that she would try to kill their baby the same way he tried to kill it in this world?
