Totally agree on this. It's really a shame. I also thought it'd be a good story, kinda disappointed just like you. I don't think this will have a 180 turn to be good again. I'm about to drop this...

this is EXACTLY what i was thinking while reading the raws. i used to be so in love with this story its a shame it develops the way it does in the future

Yeah. Especially that they actually made a good world building. Like the red mansion couldve been utilized more as a plot device. But season 2 seems like theyve spent it more out of the red mansion than in it.
Idk why. But i had high hopes for this when reading season 1. Season 2 ruined the potential of this story to be good. I dont like where season 2 pivoted to. It just became your usual abuse/stockhold syndrome/lock up bland ass trope. This could have been good. I wonder what happened?
