In the end, the artist practically canonized the bl.
By placing 3 couples, one of them being the brother with the supposed uncle

If I'm going to be 100% honest, I love the BL, but I would have preferred an ending with the childhood girl.
BUT, at this point the artist has already made it very clear the possible couple with the other demon, even more so in this extra.
With the girl he is more fulfilling the promise he made in the past.
Which makes me sad, because I really wanted him to end up falling for her even though he promised again and again that he wouldn't fall for a human haha.

canonically, in my mind, she falls for the girl. i mean the author could have completely not addressed her at the end but still did.

knowing that his grandfather and father did, he will follow the same pattern

On the contrary, I’m glad he didn’t end up with the girl lol. I like the idea that not everyone needs to be paired up with someone to get a happy ending. Plus it didn’t feel right to me that he didn’t care about her at all and used her the entire time he was with her, he only cared after she helped out last minute. Had she not helped, I have a feeling he wouldn’t even bother to think about her again. Throwing in the cliche reuniting and falling in love is bleh to me.
