Oh wow I didn't expect so many people to reply lolol okay if you DONT want spoilers then don't read this cuz I'm gonna explain how it happens.

So neuta spends a bunch of time with jigu waiting for him to confess, and he starts to feel sad when thinking about ending their relationship by rejecting him, however he doesn't connect these thoughts to romantic feelings unfortunately. Christmas rolls around, and jigu naturally assumes they'd be spending it together, and gets superrrr excited all by himself, only to watch neuta get into a random car and leave for the entire day without a word. By the time he gets back, it's night time and he's a little drunk if I remember correctly, and he finds that jigu had been standing out in the cold for what seemed to be hours. Jigu blurts out his confession, and finds out that neuta had never actually liked him first, and vows to himself that he'd never like anyone ever again (including neuta). I don't want to ruin the reading experience for y'all so I think I'll stop here, but the confession doesn't end TERRIBLY hehe
