so he's the reason
He must be proud of himself ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
he's like that nerd guy in every class who would remind the teacher of last week's homework. not all nerds, but you know, that specific nerd who had his work done and need to make sure the teachers know his hardwork? that specific nerd~ he would never do anything illegally! his parents has raised him this way! the humanity will be great again under his care!
Uhm? Why? He's a crusader in his own right trying battle illegal manga uploads. Don't like it? Either buy it or wait for the site to shut down. Simple. No need to act like idiots and claiming the other person is an idiot for snitching. Honestly, if this was shoplifting, the same people shaming this guy would congratulate tge other for getting the thief caught. Same principle, different curcumstances. Grow up. (︶︿︶)=凸
Yeah I saw their tweets yesterday. It's okay if that person just reports illegal sites to lezhin and lets their legal team take care of the problem, but they have to go around making grand announcements to the authors. It's not like the authors can do anything about illegal translations of their works on websites like this. I'm sure they know about mangago already, why creates them even more stress?
That person must be proud of themselves *sigh*
Finally, an activist who we can rely on. After this, there will be no more people who persistently encourage the others to support Lezhin. It only costs you 3 coins per chapter anyways. The oblivious authors will finally know that their artworks have been distributed illegally online. What a heartbreak. And it's unfortunate that they can't sue them too, but at least there's DMCA. Such reliability. Very efficient.
Lol. And pray tell who we consider as internet police if one person lives in another country and the other elsewhere? Better to alert the owner because it's LEGALLY theirs.
P.S. Not much people here like the word "Legal", huh
I have no problem with purchasing things legally. I buy the webtoons I read from Lezhin...
Those sites have places for reporting illegal uploads. The authors don't usually take legal action, they just direct the information to the legal team. Lezhin's website is completely in English and there's the option for any logged in account to report illegal webtoon postings directly to the legal team. One of the authors even told them to report it through Lezhin
You do know that for comics serialized on Lezhin, readers are encouraged to contact Lezhin staff to report illegal translations right?
Same with manga, the mangakas usually give out their mailing addresses at the publishers, and the editors in charge will take care of any reports of illegal activities if sent to such mailing addresses.
When that person tweeted to the authors of royal servant, they asked to report to Lezhin. There's nothing wrong with reporting illegal sites, but there are places where such claims should go, and tweeting the authors directly is not only inefficient but may also waste their time and cause them distress.
I am not condemning anyone for it. I am not requesting anyone to personally verbally attack this person/report their twitter account. "Shall we grab our pitchforks and flaming torches?" I jest. I am aware that my initial post was vague and up for interpretation. (If your favorite/current manga has stopped updating/completely removed, perhaps this is/was the reason why. That was my intention) If this person wishes to continue to tweet about the illegal activity, surrounding mangago, that is their right to do that. Nor am I ignorant to the ongoing fact that this person - will not be the last person to snitch, for lack of better term. Or that authors are unaware that their content is constantly is being distributed on illegal sites. People have strong feelings about piracy and its effects on the anime and manga industry. Usually, the piracy narrative is: it’s a crime and you shouldn’t do it. You are stealing from the content creators, and you should feel bad. Support the author(s) if you can. I am not trying to debate the system here. (Wrong vs. Right) My opinion, it's just as counterproductive to go on an illegal site, such as mangago, convey to myself and other people (that choose to venture on this site) that XYZ is only x amount of coins per chapter. Thanks for the enlightenment. I did not know that. Perhaps other fellow mangago users did or did not know either. I am now a wiser activist.
There is a twitter account snitching on sites like mangago. Shall we grab our pitchforks and flaming torches?
