uhhh no he wouldn't lmao His whole characterization is that he's shy and has low self esteem and he bends over backwards for his partner. He literally said in the last freaking chapter that Ash deserves to live more than he does. His little self worth is tied to how others perceive him, and the most important person in his life is Ash. Someone who thinks this way could very well think that if he doesn't match the pace of his partner/ says no, then his partner will get bored of him and leave... that's why he'd prefer not to rock the boat and to follow along even if he isn't interested + doesn't want to.
Also, is it a crime to want enthusiastic consent????? Why did we need to see a chapter of Lyle looking uncomfortable and clearly trying to politely refuse the whole time when we could have gotten a chapter of him blushing, being shy, but being interested in the variety of toys. He could have seemed even a little excited lol....

i understand your point, and i agree to it. however, i don't think blaming on ash is correct. the guy is NOT a red flag. lyle's self steem problems are not ash's to solve, but ash has made efforts to prove himself to lyle as well, so shouldn't lyle put some faith on his as well? i truly understand your pov, but in my pov, ash shouldn't be hold accountable because lyle refuses to communicate more. ash is a pretty open minded guy, so i think that this is a thing that goes both ways. this is how relationships work.
about consent, i didn't say it was a crime lol my point is that lyle COULD have refused both the outdoor sex and the toys, ash wouldn't force him as he never did. lyle has a distorted image of many things, so in my opinion is not wrong of ash to try and push his limits. but again, this is my opnion only and you don't have to agree. we view things as we experience them! you're not wrong in your ideas, but i believe that me neither.
and thank you for leaving a polite coment!

i know. but people act as if this is ash's fault, when really, is lyle's communications problems. i understand the underline "ash should be more considerate since he knows lyle is like this", but ash has also proved himself as someone lyle can count on and share things, but if doesn't, is it ash's fault? i don't agree with that at all.
yall acting as if ash was a toxic guy when in reality lyle could very much stop any of ash actions if he wanted
