We know. She has her backstory in the early chapters. Her family was killed by the evil queen and she let herself buried alive so she can turn into a ghost so she can have her revenge.

Anyway the ghost lady was a shaman who was called by the parents of this crazy queen when she was a kid vuz she's always been unhinged and occultist so the lady shaman made some predictions which offended han Chae hee so she killed off the shamans entire family kids and husband. So shaman found a monk and had some elaborate procedures done to bury herself alive in a torturous way so that she can come back as a ghost and take her revenge. She doesn't really care for nok per se she just wants her revenge
But...We had her full story in the first season... We know everything about her

That "woman" ghost is someone from the palace or worse, nok's mom. We never knew the background of her death either.
