So, brent lured hayden to the party and they had wild violent sex right? Well hayden is trying to suppress himself due to a trauma and is trying to stay sane and tame, albeit superficially. Brent wants hayden to unleash his inner rawr cos he is honestly twisted and wanted to see the extent of hayden losing out of control. Hes also a masochist who is intrigued by people’s inner rawr and wants to be dominated by hayden who cant control himself (the painful the better) so, brent proposes to hayden that they go fubu. Hayden gives the carnal benefits, and brent the connections needed to succeed in film industry. They continued on this arrangement until hayden discovered that he partially imprinted on brent unknowingly. Hayden confessed, but knows that brent wont reciprocate. So he plans to stop their arrangement so that the imprinting will stop. But brent was like no way. Brent admit that he cant give what hayden wants, which is love feelings affection etc. cos brent is physically incapable of feeling those, let alone give them. He grew up as seeing every relationship as a transaction and is basically a high functioning sociopath. Thats why he was obsessed with hayden cos he longs for a thrill in his life, that hayden gives in their wild wild wild sex. Then during their end of the football season party (?) shit happens. A bullied student shot a player dead, and wanted to shot brent too cos he is unnerved by him. But hayden shielded him and got shot instead. Then brent visited the shooter, told him to shoot himself (as revenge ) and in exchange, helps the shooter with not getting imprisoned. In the end, brent and hayden had a very mature and very open conversation about it. In which both compromised. Hayden can shower brent his feelings and brent in exchange would reciprocate in his own way. Like going on dates, letting hayden shower him with affection etc. then we are currently in the latest chapters.


Ps. Regarding the omega friend, he first likes hayden. Since hes the only decent alpha there is. But he realized that hayden cant reciprocate. So he went on with other ppl, including brent’s very dangerous cousin(?). Hes the type who cant live without love. So when he finally thought he found someone, that asian guy hes with, he became miserable realising that their feelings is not the same.
