Same here . I agree he does love her. I get what he said was not the vibes ,but we also gotta remember that in korea (including the korean language - this is translated manwha) talking about beauty is a norm. Even saying "your only good for your looks " is considered a compliment because pretty people are very aware of that privilege. Some may even answer with " then im glad i was born with this face because it got me you" ( like yes this is a flirting) . : So apparently saying " i initially like her cuz of her looks ... " just means he had a preference she filled asthetically but everything else was still up in the air till she allowed her real personality to shine though, which is why he loves her . Its common to fall for appearance initially but solidifying real feeling with trust and respect later . That's exactly what happened tho, Richard was looking for someone with the potential to be his dom/master, she filled all the boxes, he came to like her/lover her because he got to know her through the process of the engagement. he barely knew her before all that, he just witnessed her harsh personality a few times lol
i dont like how richard said he wouldnt have married her if she were not "his type" which kinda hints that he saw her meet his sexual needs and married her...nothing more
