yes! although the donghua has censorship much like the c-drama however, i think it's still a love story, just non-explicit. The manhua has censored some kiss scenes and has removed/merely suggested some love scenes but otherwise, quite loyal to the novel.
U should read the novel, and listen to the chinese audio drama, althought its not specifically there also (the smut scenes), but the tension is there haha and they are doing the deed xD
