MLs were exactly like this in classic yaoi from like the 90s, then in the 2010s finally people just started writing interesting characters however they wanted. but for some reason in the 2020s the half of the MLs are like this and if they aren't, they are super stoic super rich and have no enjoyment in life besides the main character.
