I think that he has a goal he wants to achieve and I think he needs to be more in control to achieve it, so my theory is that he saw how mc was already down bad for him and gave him "protection" to make himself seem more trustworthy and to use him in the end

At this point he either wants the full control of the body to have the possibility to use the powers of the god as he pleases or there is a reason that will be revealed later on and the author is doing a great fucking job at hiding it

With the majority of the stuff I read I do too, mostly because I usually prefer to read silly stories or story with a not so deep plot to take my mind off of things but every once in a while I can't help but find a story like this one where I just feel the need to make theories (and I also just love doing it).

What a good theory. The one about the little ghosts specially, because he "killed them" like they were nothing. The other mugo, being the jerk one, didn't do that. So that is telling.
The other thing is that old mugo didn't care for sacrifices, he only cared for this. That's weird as hell, he probably is planning to break the curse and be the only personality or make them all merge into 1. I thought he was a good fella, but I'm not so sure anymore.

The phobia is actually what made me think that jerk Mugo Is the God cause in the snippet the author showed we saw this totally black figure that was trapped in a vase talking to a human, so I thought that the trauma was from that cause it was probably not the first time they trapped him probably to try and use it's power, but even if it was the other way around it still works so both options are intriguing

So listen at this point my theory is
Lord Mugo aka "jerk" Mugo was the actual god that got trapped in what looked like a vase and lost his lover whom was killed by the people in the Luna village.
Sir Mugo aka old ass Mugo who I wanna hit with a pan is the human who gave himself up as a vessel to the god cause he wanted revenge for idk what and didn't want to die, he might also be the one who said in the snippet we saw something along the lines of "kill them and get your revenge" and HE IS the actual psychopath because he is the one who still doesn't give up on the revenge and still chooses the children as sacrifices under the pretence of wanting to keep the "monster" Mugo under control and the gummies hate him cause they're (in my theory) the spirits of the sacrifices that died this far. I don't know if he's just a pice of shit who felt wronged by them and still wants revenge for that or if maybe he also had feeling for the lover of God Mugo and Is still mad about him dying but I still hate his guts cause I think he also want to use our baby to gain more control over the others. I also do believe that the mc is the reincarnation of the lover and that's why they all react to him in some way. Regarding "monster" Mugo he did no wrong and he is a cutie pie they just didn't bother to find another way to feed him without hurting people (or again hated Mugo found other ways to satiate him in one of the books he hid from god Mugo Just so he could keep on choosing sacrifices cause the " I was to weak to protect the others " shit he said in the first chapter is fucking bullshit).
