I really like how this author writes her characters. They each have their own motivations, the FL has such phenomenal character development, and even the flawed characters make sense in a way where they aren't despicable. Spoiler** Khalid is such a flawed character, but really showcases the author's ability to write a flawed character well. His deranged obsession and flawed reasoning make sense based on his implied history, and his inability to let go of Estelle fits far better than if he were to give in and let her live happily with a commander of the nation his own for. Y'all, this is a man who kept the skull of the woman he killed displayed in a shelf in his mansion.
And he doesn't even slightly think that his actions are something to condemn. He thinks he is free of guilt and even better than everyone else.
My guess is that he is the reimbursement of Ares, and that his obsession over Estelle is a reflection of Ares's.
To add to that, the author's choice of showing that connection while retaining each character's unique story and development, and without making them take on the memories and experiences of Ishtar and Ares... It makes this story such an enjoyable and captivating read.
This is such an awesome webtoon, I can't wait to see how the story concludes.
