Imo, at least when it comes to Tay, Xinlu is worse than Ilay because he knows how to be manipulative and masks his psycho side. Ilay on the other hand, is almost always transparent about his feelings and intentions (albeit he struggles to understand “feelings”). He doesn’t bother to hide the fact that he’s a nut job or manipulate Tay, he just straight up makes Tay do what he wants lol. It only feels like Xinlu isn’t as bad because he’s not yet been able to overpower Tay like Ilay does (but if he could’ve he defo would’ve done the same things to Tay as Ilay- his dialogue when he tries to is… concerning). I do want to see more of their relationship tho cause this bitch loves the drama. Maybe the novel is diff, but I feel like the manhwa didnt deepen Tay/Xinlu’s relationship enough at the start so it doesn’t feel very high stakes
