As a workaholic I also have my mom get angry at me for working too much and sacrificing my health all the time haha. In the moment you just think about how you need to get something done in time for the people waiting, and the adrenaline makes you not realize how much you're hurting yourself.

also we have to remember that kondou is japanese, and japan is well… famous for their extreme work ethics to the point of creating a new phenomenon of dying from overworking, they even made a term for it called “karoshi”
