after all of that u cant deny that karel loved sasya truly, enough for him to go to war and take the blame for him and live a secret identity as a spy even though he was risking his own life. saying that karel's only basis for loving sasya r because of his looks is so wrong bro bc if that were true then they wouldnt be together living happily rn. hasnt it been depicted enough that karel wants sasya to live a comfortable and happy life and truly wants the best for him as a person

REPLYING TO XIEJAM'S COMMENTS: Xeijam people ca do all that when they are blinded by someone else's looks. For example the men who wet to war for Helen, her beauty and the idea of her. I don't think u quite understand the conflict I and the other person here is pointing out. Besides Karel was asked by sasya before and after the war and prison seNtence what his reason was and both time it had to do with looks primarily. Karel took the blame and the wet through war cause he was sure this would make sasya stay with him and he felt betrayed cause he did all that for sasya and sasya still did't feel inclined to stay. Karel didn't consider that sasya might prioritize his dreams over love and that's cause karel was blinded by the idea of sasya. But even all that he was attracted to sasya. It just seems like obsession/lust to me. Sasya on the other hand wasn't attracted to him cause of looks ad took his time to love karel meaing he truly loves karel

I agree with everything punpurin said there. Not only that but after spending a couple years on his own and cultivating his own life, sasya got into a healthier mental space. Since he had gotten out of his numbness, he realized that he felt guilty for not reciprocating Karel's love and when he seen Karel again, he kind of just gaslighted and convinced himself to be with karel. He wanted to make up for the "wrong that he had done." and in my opinon, Sasya was 100% the victim in this relationship. He was never asked for his opinon and was strung along by karel simply because he had no where else to go. He did not ask for Karel's "love." He obviously wasn't emotionally available for a relationship. And Karel had just gotten codependent on him. Does he even know the true Sasya? His love just seems surface level. Just because he has seen Sasya at his worst doesn't mean he knows him. I want to very much point out the scene where Karel went to the mental hospital WITH sasya, claiming that he was worried Sasya wouldn't be able to live without him. Is that not odd? Should he not have learned how to take care of himself by himself? When Karel was taken out of the picture, Sasya was finally able to live comfortably and follow his dreams.

then can you honestly sit there and tell me that his actions weren't driven by obsession. What plausible reason did he have to love Sasya in the beginning of the story if it wasn't his looks? Sasya gave no reason for Karel to love him beyond his body. Karel was just selfishly keeping him to himself. Karel's character is literally just sasya, sasya, sasya, sasya. traumatic backstory and then a truamatic charactet to fix him all up. I do not pity his character one bit, I'm sorry. Also, let's bring up the fact that Karel didn't care about Sasya's needs during sex. I haven't read the story in a while and I didn't annotate so I'm working off of memory and my bias runs more towards sasya then it does Karel but even if Karel did take the blame for Sasya for that murder, his affection was still hollow before. and even after, he seemed to blame sasya for almost everything! Are we also forgetting that slap? It only had to take one small conversation one small anything to get Sasya to leave him be. He hired someone to sexually assult him in private rather than tell him "you literally have to leave me be?" Karel's entire "I'm acting like a coldhearted noble to hide my real identity from the government and prove that i'm not the same man" was so ANNOYING. i am so sorry because it seems like you like karel's character and usually I can understand where a character's actions are coming from when they make a bad decision, like beomseok from weak hero class one (the drama and not the webtoon bc they're both different.) While I don't excuse either of beomseok's or karel's actions, at least Beomseok was a well written character with his environment pushing him and his warped mindset to make the decisions that he did. But I genuinely hate karel since nothing he does actually makes sense and if it does, it doesn't have any nuance.
So until the very end Karel's reason for loving sasya is his looks? Why would they bring that question up if they weren't going to change. his answer?
