I am still so confused on wtf a Regas even is, like do they have some magic in them that p...

A Regas honestly just appears to be a normal person who’s had training, I don’t think magic is really the case I think they just bond like how people do. No idea why they’re all guys but I do know regas aren’t specifically romantic partners so kings are still able to produce heirs ╮(￣▽￣)╭

A Regas is essentially similar to an adviser or a king’s right-hand person, but their bond runs much deeper, extending beyond professional boundaries. Regas are trained and treated to be capable of handling kings, they serve as 'leverage' to help control them. While they are not necessarily romantic partners to the kings, the nature of their relationship can evolve into something romantic depending on the bond they share.(づ￣ ³￣)づ At least, that's what I understood hehe. I don't think they have magic embedded in them or anything like that. It's more of an emotional or mental kind of thing between a regas and their king.

See that does make sense to me and then it shows how the council has been turning Regas into sexual things to control the kings for generations, but what confuses me more is the magic forest. They say only Kings and their true Regas can enter so what gives a Regas the ability to enter? It can't just be because the king likes them since we know the previous king liked to abandon his Regas in the forest knowing they couldn't leave without him since they weren't true Regas. That to me implies Regas who are truly chosen (either by birth or by the king through a special bond), must have magic to enter the forest. Idk its just so not explained

The Regas history is a massive spoiler. But you are right that they have some sort of magic in them. Or rather than magic, I'd call it blessing.
