They can’t because the author says it’s not bl. There’s some (obvious) suggestive implications but nothing has, or will, ever occur “romantically” in this series. The author is basically a fujoshi and a tease… there’s implied bromance, but that doesn’t qualify as bl. (Otherwise The Lord of the Ring- Frodo and Sam is bl)
