this was seriously like reading gay Ghibli (with a small smattering of smut) my fucking heart it's always been a little awkward for me as an American whenever manga/manhwa is set in the US bc there are just little cultural tells that aren't natural to us but that the mangaka doesn't even notice they're doing, but this was so good I forgot it was a manga for at least a whole volume so serious props to the author, esp since it was also a historical piece, which even us USian writers struggle with. takes some serious gumption and skill to do that and pull it off so beautifully. masterpiece, honestly.
