I appreciate the effort but the translation is commie tier bad. Why is it so vulgar? Japanese people don't speak like that.

I have no clue what you're talking about. It was completely and easily comprehensible. What do you mean by “vulgar?”

I think they mean the more westernized translation in some areas? Some of it was a bit jarring for me example's would be "diddly squat, fan frickentastic, Fuck me sideways"

Ohhh. That bothers me sometimes too, but I didn't even notice it here.

I honestly didn't really notice it. As a native English speaker, the language kind of makes then feel younger/more college aged. It might seem vulgar if you arent used to it, but it's fairly accurate to a college student; it didn't feel out of place at all. And it's kind of silly. I don't have huge issue with it (though the phrases aren't quite very colloquial). It makes sense that they probably don't speak like that exactly, but it also isn't "commie tier bad". If you think this is that bad a translation, you're a lucky duck to not have run into some truly difficult (to understand) translations. I appreciate that it was translated and typeset and everything at all (and even the little sfx have been translated and typeset! Thanks a ton, scanlation team).

please also remember that scanlation audiences are not necesarily fluent in english.

I'm not a native speaker but I know a little bit of both English and Japanese. Plus, I'm a heavy manga reader and I do help with few several manga projects as an editor. Let's say I understand to some extent all the little things that might happen in a scanlation project and what differentiate a good project from a bad one. I know that the majority of the scanlations on the internet are nonprofit and should be appreciated whether they turn out good or bad. But hey, I can at least point out the silly mistakes even when I fully appreciate the effort, can't I?

My problem isn't on whether the English of the translation is good or bad, or can be understood or not. In this case, I can understand the characters intent but I can easily misinterpret their personality from how they speak and due to dodgy translation. I know most BL manga have simple dialogs in general but those dialogs still tell us a lot about characters demeanor and stuff. You can say that we understand characters from how they speak, so when I see a translation that is clearly straying way too away from how Japanese people speak all well-mannered and polite it just bugs me to no end.

But you know what? you are completely right, this translation isn't bad at all, in fact it's good actually. It's just that sometimes it's too "american" I guess.

That part that made me write this comment was actually the "fuck me sideways" bubble in chapter 3. I thought it was quite disgusting because it’s just too vulgar and you probably can’t find that sentence said in manga at all, unless you’re reading hentai that is. So, I just looked it up out of curiosity the raws had just “あ–––––––もう” in that bubble. It’s absolutely maddening how that became fuck me sideways.

Lol. I didn't even notice that bubble I guess. Because I probably would have thought it was weird too. あーーーもう=fuck me sideways? XD I see why you're bothered. I would have just translated it as “Ugh” or “Give me a break” or “Ugh... Enough” depending on the context which I don't remember.
