First of all, I like this story so much. You'd the think that the MC is just nonchalant, but he's more than that, he's funny, witty, and overall just a normal person lol (we all betas in this clurb). I like how the MC slowly found the courage to fall in love AGAIN, after his first heartbreak, which ended up into a twist that his best friend actually did like him too. I like how the love interests pursued MC and his relationship with his family and coworkers.
MC's reaction to the other employees acting as if nothing was happening while Mr. Lee and the douchebag was having a private quarrel in a public setting was understandable. He has lived in a small Beta town, surrounded by Beta's like him for a long time now and was shocked to see others business out in the open, while his coworkers are desensitised to it. Kinda like how this generation is now desensitised to violence, but those who aren't familiar with that IRL will be shocked too. He technically represents us, the readers, who don't live in that society, setting, or universe. Unlike his coworkers, he isn't used to this kind of situation enough to not care.
I like the plot of MC and his best friend, the moment that green-haired hottie came into the scene, I knew there was definitely something going on between them. Then it was confirmed that they liked each other back then, a "The One That Got Away" moment for the both of them, which nicely tied into why MC is so relictant to fall in love with a differing 2nd gender. Their intimate conversation when MC asked if it was OK for a Beta to fall in love with an Alpha, or an Omega, is somewhat of a reflection towards their younger selves. It was as if they were talking to their younger selves that were scared to ruin the perfect relationship(friendship) they already had. They were saying things they wished they had heard when they were younger, eventually encouraging themselves, especially the MC to fall in love again with no worries.
I like the 2nd ML Omega, he's headstrong and bratty but he's so mature too. He's confident and will put up a fight, and won't anything stop him. He's a cutie like that and I wish we could see a happy ending for him, in the romantic aspect of his life.
I know most readers think the side story for Mr. Lee and the douchebag is a waste of a good Side story. And yes, ngl I agree, bc we could already pick up bits and pieces of their story as the Main plot was going on. HOWEVER, even if they were the subplot that didn't need to be explained, I'm glad we got a deeper look into their relationship and story; How Mr. Lee fell in love, and how he was hurt. I like that we got to know him more in a deeper level. There are people like Mr. Lee IRL that falls in love and keep on forgiving and hoping for their love to be reciprocated. It may seem pathetic to some other people, but it's an undeniable truth for some. The main point of this story WHOLE story of Exclusive No-Love Zone, is that we can't control our feelings. No matter how stubborn we can be, we can still falter. Hate can turn to love, love can turn to hate. Love makes us do things that we never thought we'd do, or makes do things that we SWEAR we'll never do in our lifetime. This was just another view into that "moral of the story". Some people stay, because they hope that their love can reach their significant other, even if they get hurt over and over again. It's all because they love that other person, before eventually burning out and giving up on the other person to love themselves instead. A love that a lot of people possess, but not all if deserving of.
I love this story, this plot and it's subplots, because it's grounded, it's well-thought off, and—despite its fictional setting— it's realistic.
damn u wrote an essay but also REAL ASF. u perfectly summed up everything i love about this story. literally the only thing i didnt like was the 2nd couple bs, but i suppose it does make sense for the themes of the story
absolutely yes to everything. i really liked that it was satire but also completely its own thing with actual character growth and fleshed out characters. so good.
