I hate people like you because you’re shipping two of the most incompatible characters. It’s like shipping Isagi and Ego just because one had a significant impact on the other and nothing else. I don’t care when people ship characters, but at least make it logical
I agree with you on randomly shipping characters that don’t make sense. However I see why Nagi X Isagi is a ship because at first, Nagi wasn’t interested in football and only joined blue lock because Reo convinced him to become the world’s best together. But after being defeated by Isagi, Nagi finally awakened and realized that playing the usual way with Reo was impossible to win the World Cup so he teamed up with Isagi.
Everybody says that Isagi is a homewrecker but he was the one who helped Nagi and Reo develop further and make them both realize their new talents. Isagi also respects Nagi as a genius football player and helped Reo get the confidence to play with Nagi again when they were choosing their teams in the footage room.
Besides, there were some cute moments between them like Isagi taking care of Nagi when Reo wasn’t there during the second selection. Reo’s behavior was a bit extreme when Nagi joined Isagi but honestly Nagi x Isagi is cute. Ego x Isagi is just another subject entirely.
Is that seriously the only reason people ship those two? Because if so, that’s got to be one of the weakest justifications ever. Y’all Nagi x Isagi shippers always go on about how Nagi "awakened" because of Isagi, how he didn’t truly enjoy soccer until he played with him, and how Isagi respects Nagi as a genius footballer. But Isagi respects literally every strong player he encounters. Him acknowledging Nagi’s talent or helping him out on the field is just the bare minimum of being a good teammate. Like can a whore not have a teammates or a friends.
And the idea that one match with Isagi singlehandedly changed Nagi’s entire mindset? That’s just factually wrong. Episode Nagi literally shows that his growth was a process that started way before Isagi, with Barou playing a huge role. Nagi’s development wasn’t some overnight transformation from one game with Isagi, it was built up over multiple matches, and Barou was just as important in pushing him toward that evolution. Both Nagi and Isagi were reaching their awakening ever since they clashed with Barou, not just because they played with each other.
And let’s not forget nagi straight-up sees Isagi as a mob/ NPC. He doesn’t view him as someone special; in the game he literally says, "so hearing that he'll be going doesn't make me look forward to it or anything" when you are trying to raise Nagi's motivation. That’s not admiration, that’s indifference. The way some of y’all latch onto one or two cherry-picked moments and act like they define an entire relationship is wild. Shipping is whatever, but at least have some solid reasoning behind it instead of stretching the smallest interactions into some grand love story. isagi is literally nagireo's biggest opp he literally hates their homosexual asses. AT LEAST I can understand ngro bc this gay ass always talk about reo this reo that.

Sure, with the way I worded my comment, it sounds like I want the 2 to be a thing and worshipped them together but I only meant it in the most lighthearted way ever. I just enjoyed Isagi and Nagi's moments together more than I did with Nagi and Reo's (This includes what I saw from the anime).
It's more for the comraderie and rivalry rather than a possible love story. I'm not trying to offend anyone here or bring anyone down
