i think in a sense, xin already did free lau, what with the whole burning their contract thing. now its up to lau to free xin from whatever head family bs is going on but who knows how that will turn out.
With those flashbacks and parallels, we know the tragedy is gonna happen, i think author wants us to believe that lau is the one who will do what her big sis couldnt and free xin this time but i feel like it will be xin who is gonna free lau.
