This is just a theory, I think they're reliving the past because, like any type of time travel stories, iheon regrets so much of what he had done to huimin thats why he wanted to change things up and live happily with huimin and their child. Iheon is trying so hard because he regrets everything he had done to huimin, because huimin from the past become depressed and su*cid*l, he love huimin but i think he didnt realize that at the beginning and began regretting everything when he starts catching feelings (idk not sure about this, or maybe he love huimin at first sight but dont know how to love since he's a thug that only knows how to kill??) they are not both suck in the story, huimin doesnt want to accept the fact that iheon isnt treating him nice and was in a lot of stress so he created a fictional world where he thinks that WORLD IS HIS REALITY, and the book he read in chapter 1 is just fictional, wherein its the opposite. The book is their real life, and the fictional world huimin created is ACTUALLY THE STORY huimin wrote.
SO WHEN THEY BOTH TIME TRAVELLED TO THE PAST, THEIR MEMORIES IS STILL INTACT, they both know their past, but huimin is still stuck from the fictional world he created, thats why huimin thinks that he got transmigrated into the book and thats why he is acting like a jolly friend to iheon and wanted to make things right.
Iheon is afraid to relive the past thats why he hide all the things huimin owned that would make him remeber what happened.

Makes alot of sense, considering Iheon is trying to hide something so bad, the story the irl Huimin read is probably a story he created that he doesn't have any memories of for whatsoever and maybe that's what Iheon's tryingto cover up so badly, there were files that looked like it was a script / novel, and drawings that you would see from the "novel" or Huimin's memories like the teddy bear.
Maybe that's what Iheon took in his art room, some pieces that would maybe trigger some memories that Huimin does not remember
It might be something going on with his mental health, since it clearly shows that Huimin doesn't remember a part of his memories
Low-key it still don't make sense when I say it, I would like to say the Irl Huimin and Irl Iheon is the story Huimin created but it seems more like the story Huimin and story Iheon is their reality and which case Huimin doesn't remember clearly.
BC when he would go to therapy he would dream abt the "story" and not the actual present time in which case it seemed weird because why was he dreaming the story when he already knows how things go around? Could his memories actually is js the novel he "created" or "read"?
There's no actual "real" Huimin, both Humin's are the same soul same body AND same world, just different timelines, as Iheon most definitely time travelled, just a theory where Iheon and Huimin keeps reliving their past but Iheon starts to remember things and have regretted and tried to change everything.
They both know their "past" but Huimin doesn't see it as his past but from a story, and Iheon had already regained his memories and is trying to change things.
