Actually, what sets this apart from reality is that the ML "took" responsibility for the FL and unborn child by proposing marriage to her. And it's the one-night stand at that. In reality, not all men will do the same thing to the one-night flings they impregnated with. Either the woman ends up raising the child themselves, or give birth to the child and turnover them to child welfare programs, or they simply abort it. Plus, the one's who stick their pricks should be the one responsible for the "protection" your saying. I don't get the hate for the FL not having protection when the ML must be also aware of it since he's the one who released it inside her.
But I guess that's the reality in here. In this kind of scenario, the woman always takes the blame.

Why did you hate the ML tho? He didnt do anything wrong, the sex was consensual as far as i remember and you only read like 4 chapter aint you judging too fast
And her being reluctant about telling the ML who was originally supposed to be a one night stand is not too far fetched, many men unfortunately immidiately hop off when hearing that so yeah them not using protection was stupid but she is not the only one at fault here
