I think the reason she did that is because she is frail for one and then she heard and seen for herself what type of man she is so the way he looks at her like she is property would you really think she would be able to reject a cruel person like that especially if he kill people he gets mad at or dislikes.
I feel like she accepted cause she was scared he could ruin her family especially since she is from a small country. And running away would’ve been worse cause he could hunt them down and kill them. And then her being a princess, she would never be allowed to marry a knight so going behind his back was her only choice cause he would kill him and her if she told him she loved the Henan.
He chose her because he took a liking to her so she didn’t really have a choice to reject him.. plus being a king in that time he could have many wives which I feel is something that is unfair back in the day(speaking generally not just about this story) because the wives couldn’t get multiple husbands.
But overall you are right that they are all wrong I’m just saying she kinda had a valid reason to go behind they’re back if she wanted to be with the one she loved and not get killed in her mind… But nobody’s ever right
I know what Kallima did was wrong; monitoring, imprisonment,and threatened her to kill her lover.
But what the princess and her knight did was wrong too. They should've just run away together instead of playing a lingering love game. What the princess wish to be? Married a king then freely having a lover? No man or woman willing to be a cuckold.
I know run away isn't easy, as she is a princess with responsibility to hold. But doesn't mean she can betray her husband when she can refuse the marriage or telling her husband that won't be love between them. I don't get why she act like a victim when it is her who bring a lover while lying it is a friend to her husband's home. What Kallima did was indefinitely wrong, but it is a reaction she get after betraying her spouse.
They're all in there wrong, yet it is only Kallima got scorned and continuously stand in a place of unchosen lover. Unfair.
