Not a spoiler but what I think is going on I haven't read raws But everything seems so obvious I could be wrong But I think someone behind the scenes is manipulating everything probably the Queen mother of the evil prince. The royal family supposedly don't get affected by poison but I think that's not true, I think the prince was poisoned by his friend and weak from the poison thrown off the cliff. ( That's why he lost his sense of taste and his love for eating, eventually losing weight.) This looks like a plan with years in the making -First 20 years ago they destroyed the church so they could get rid of the sacred relic, so they could get rid of the crown prince and in case he had gotten away they could fake his true origins. - Then they had to get rid the loyal nobles that got in their way The Prellai and the Lyshinis (capitan of the guards family) -In the Lyshinis case they killed the mother, maybe they wanted to kill the son too but since he became a knight that couldn't get married and got blocked in his actions by his superiors, he was no longer a threat. - In the Prellai case the plan was more throughout First they got rid of the mother, they did something to her to make her cry, like threatening her with killing her family if she didn't went away. The mother took the carriage to hide herself to save her family or was looking for a way to save them herself, but sadly got killed in the way of doing so, they said the accident happened while the knights of the Prellai family were chasing them, so a traitor must have had his hand in this. Then they planted false evidence of the mother affair, affecting all the family, the father lost in grief took the grandfather advice and headed north in a subjugation hunt, probably like mc he wrote letters that never arrived and the letters written by his family never reached him too, another traitor in sight (Uncle Julius is suspicious because if the direct line is executed by the royal family they could get their place) Without mother and father, the grandfather had a lot of work to do and he couldn't take proper care of the grandchildren. The grandchildren were easy to deal with because all of them were weird so they didn't have a great backing in high society, yes they were rich, with pedigree and close to the royal family but without any friend in high society. Mc was even easier they could spread rumors that it was not legitimate child of the family and luckily she didn't have a summoned creature. Now a really interesting thing: in collateral branch of the Prellai family is a case of luck if they get or not a summoned creature. Melissa father was direct line because he was son of the grandfather but Melissa wasn't because her father was the second son. Melissa must have seen his father summoned animal and must have been told by him that maybe she could get one too. Melissa had amazing divine power and is the same age as mc. Melissa must have used her powers without notice to get mc summoned creature before chirp got to meet mc. Mc had dreamed her summoned creature was a bird, Melissa easily let got of chirp clearly showing she doesn't have the same deep connection the family has with their creatures. Remember Hou (grandfather bird) trying to go with him when he was captured by the royal guards for treason, he couldn't move but he was desperate to be with him but chirp easily left Melissa to be with Mc, Chirp is more powerful, has more respect and likes to be with Mc more. Finally a lot of people are praying for the crown prince to become king but I don't think MC is queen material (a queen doesn't have time for investigation) so I think they will keep being Marquises and the princess daughter of the fifth dead queen will become the crown princess and new queen.
