Why does korean manhwa like to make their mc goes into debt, does korea really have the law
to make debt get pass on to their child? in my country you didn't responsible to your parent debt except if you co signed the loan

    I did a rough read on the matter. Imo, it's not much related to the Asian culture. Every country has its own laws governing such matters, like inheritance debts, including Korea. It's quite similar to your country, where individuals are only liable for family members' debts if they signed as a guarantor for a loan or accepted an inheritance that includes debts. Although the law may not be perfect, it does protect the people from unfair circumstances. However, it can be different if the debt comes from unauthorized sources like from loan sharks which are usually run by criminal organizations/syndicates (yakuza, mafia, ahlong or wtv they are called in the country) This is what most manhwas like to incorporate in their storyline giving the author more freedom and creativity to write the story.
