i think the “confronting the priest alone” is just one of his character flaws. in my opinion, taesik doesn’t fully want to accept that inhui might be the killer, so he doesn’t rlly bother looking for backup as “he (inhui) wouldn’t do anything to me anyway”.
i do agree that the author shouldn’t fully make taesik out to be a dumb character, just keep his over confidence up to a certain point yknow. also he’s being manipulated by inhui, so that’d explain his actions as well.
This story has great potential as long as MC doesn't go the dumbass route. He has already made some stupid decision like confronting the priest alone in chapter 13 but he still has a chance to redeem himself if he truly investigates, doesn't drop the ball, and stops turning a blind eye to every single red flag
