The official English novel series is finished (3 vols). It's licensed by Yen Press under "The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter". Vol 3 releases next week (Mar 18th). Comes in physical and Kindle. Yes it's longer (light novel ver), and yes it's more accurate than the fan-translation (web novel ver).
You can get it off Ama*zon or Book*depository (ships worldwide), or if you're a broke-ass binch, Nyaa has the epubs; but please buy it eventually if you like it. I hope this helps.
I remembered there was a fan translation of the novel before and they also did the translation of the first volume of the manga. This is one of the first JP novels that I read and one of my favorite. Glad there is already an official English translation

there was fan translation of the novel? is it complete?
Yes, even the extras. I don't know if it's still accessible today since it is already licensed so the group might have taken it down already. heisenberg
may i get the link please? what group is it? I've been trying to read the novel for quite awhile now. i saw the translation not completed on novel updates so i thought nobody is translating it since japanese novels arent that famous

iirc, they hid or took it down cause of copyright. But I don't suggest the fanscans bc they weren't very good anyway (lots of incorrect paraphrasing). Like OP said, you can get the books off Nyaa if you're broke. Direct link isn't allowed for some sites so google is your friend.
