MC originally committed suicide and then time was rewinded back to before MC and ML met.

ML remembers everything from the first timeline perfectly and tries his best to prevent MC from committing suicide again. MC has no memories of the OG timeline but sees bits and pieces of it through his nightmares.

ML was an abusive husband in the OG timeline and deeply regrets it now.
