Chainsaws were invented to perform C sections back in the olden days. They continued to use them in parts of the world up until the late 1980's, with Ireland being the last country to move to using scalpers for C sections.
Most people died, and those who survived had serious medical issues after a C section in the days when they used chainsaws regularly for that. They also cut out whole chunks of bones too when they did that.
