Obviously he's an asshole, but personally I like how believable his internal dialogue is to his character, he's clearly written to be someone who is just NOT in tune with own emotions, and I'm assuming based on context that he never has been. The subtext's insinuating that deep down he might actually care for kim dan even if he doesn't understand why or that he does in the first place yet. Change is a long process, especially for a character like this and how this story started, so this pacing feels appropriate to me... Unforgivable dynamic IRL, but extreme change is fun to read in fiction. So curious to see what happens in chapters to come.
