jeongyeom being trapped / manipulated / whtvr doesn't justify his actions in any way shape or form ??? he murdered their parents (which, was justified imo but that doesn't detract from the fact that dong-im still lost both his parents in one night to his brother's hand- parents who didn't mistreat *him*) and then locked his brother up so he'd be reliant on him.
saw someone say that he locked dong-im up so he'd stop whoring himself, but let's be honest, that's none of jeongyeom's fucking business unless he's trying to monopolize dong-im. the fact that he killed their parents in response to dong-im getting betrothed (which couples in other historical bls have worked around) is also due to his own obsession.
dong-im might've been the first one to show jeongyeom kindness but that doesn't give jeongyeom the right to essentially take dong-im's life away and keep him locked up to fuck. also any 'manipulative' behavior on dong-im's part that people have pointed out came *after* their parents were murdered, and is only effective because of jeongyeom's obsession. it wasn't a cause it was an effect imo. and also it's pretty clear that jeongyeom isn't gonna listen to any kind of normal reasoning or explanation. dong-im doing things like fucking other guys isn't manipulative it's him trying to show jeongyeom that no matter what he does, he's already lost dong-im's trust and affection.
tl;dr: jeongyeom is 100% in the wrong. any manipulative behavior from dong-im came after the murder of their parents and as a reaction to jeongyeom's obsession. dong-im wanting to show jeongyeom that he will never truly be his isn't manipulative, it's understandable. and it's pretty obvious jeongyeom wouldn't listen to just words anyway.
