I think the author maybe doesn't even know what it really means. He probably just thought it was a cool sounding English word
Why do authors make up names in their works like Maythan, Rudius, Leticiel, Zythalomus or CARNE (I’m looking at you JBA). Like, are the authors not able to do research into whichever culture they’re basing their plot in/on to find names that exist? Or would ya’ll consider this more creative and give kudos. Genuine question, sometimes it works for me, other times it doesn’t fit with the story at ALL and pulls me out of the immersion because it looks/sounds ridiculous depending on the setting.
